MARRIAGE

The Bible describes God’s plan for Marriage as a grace for a happy life and sign of Christ’s faithful and fruitful love for his Bride, the Church. The Sacrament of Marriage helps both the couple as well as the rest of the community to get a taste of and to be drawn into the Love of God.

Because every relationship is unique and because there is a lot to do, couples seeking the Sacrament of Marriage must meet the priest at least one year prior to a desired date. Engaged couples are asked to go through a marriage preparation retreat, usually held at a neighbouring parish on a weekend, before the wedding can take place. Additionally, engaged couples will need to be interviewed by the parish priest.

Anniversary Blessings

Anyone wishing to renew their marriage vows and receive a special blessing for a significant anniversary should see the parish priest at least one week in advance of the anniversary.
